I would like to share some of my experiences with AIA Singapore, especially the excellence service provider (Advisor Lew Ming Lee Ken) that help us throughout the whole process.
I was introduced to Ken by my colleague during year 2016 and I found that he is very professional and patient in attending to client’s queries. I also feel relaxed when talking to him about my situation and the insurance coverage that I am looking for. It is like talking to a friend on your needs and he is listening and trying his best to help.
I still remember I had myself covered by another insurance company back then, and I talked to Ken for the coverage for my parents at that time. The explanation and application process were pleasant. He suggested my parents for the comprehensive coverage because they are Long Term Visit Pass holders and ensured me not to worry about paying large amount if unfortunate happens. I agreed with him as I understand that medical expenses in Singapore is really burdening if one is not covered by insurance. Meanwhile, I also had his advice to enhance my existing coverage. I even engaged his service for my second child. The best part is Ken is willing to spend his time on you, he also consolidates and summarizes my existing policies, which helps me a lot in sorting out anything was missed out.
Recently, AIA Singapore is offering Complimentary Colonoscopy Health Screening Package which costs about $2500/pax (if not mistaken), for life policy holder from age 50 and above, as part of early detection screening benefit for eligible policy holders. I am glad that both of my parents were eligible for the benefit.
On 18 Mar 2020, my mother was found out to have polyp with early malignant transformation via the screening, and doctor advised her for surgery. I immediately checked with Ken about the procedure and preparation. And he affirmed me that I do not need to worry about the hospitalization fee as it will be fully covered by the insurance. He was always there to guide me on the steps throughout the whole process (from admission to discharge). He even made a trip down to the hospital to visit me and my mother during the hospitalization (that was when COVID-19 pandemic, and we really appreciate the effort he put in).
As my mother is pass holder, the claim procedure is slightly different with SPR and Singaporean policy holders. With pre-authorization, we need to make a portion of upfront fees payment that imposed by both doctor and the hospital. Once I got the bills and receipts from the hospital, Ken immediate assisted me to submit for claiming. Surprisingly, I received full payout from AIA Singapore in just about 2 weeks’ time, which is not limited hospitalization but also post-surgery reviews with doctor. I am truly blessed that the insurance benefits not only uncover my mother’s health issue but also save us whole bunch of hard earn money.
Through this experience, I urge all my friends out there to take a deep thought on the importance of having up-to-date insurance in our life. We need insurance to give ourselves peace of mind when unfortunate strikes. At least we can have less frets and focus on the recovery of our health.
Ken is definitely the right person you can approach if you need a financial advisor. He is really a well-trained in his field of servicing and I even recommend him to my sister. According to my sister, he does not insist you to purchase new policy from him. Instead, he will read through all the insurance coverage that you have and only advise you to focus on the shortfall. He is honest in his profession and we need people like this in servicing client!
Last but not least, my mother and I wish to express our heartfelt gratitude for the speedy, courteous & knowledgeable service we have received from Ken. We wish that spirit he carries will pass down to all other service providers in his field so that more and more people will be blessed from this.
